Screening time and good practice
Kaligo is an educational tool designed to support handwriting learning.
Like any screen-based activity, it should be used in a way that is appropriate to the child’s age and under the right conditions.
Here are our recommendations for calm and balanced use 👇
👶 From what age is Kaligo Family recommended?
Kaligo Family is generally recommended:
- From 5–6 years old, when children begin learning handwriting
- Or as soon as the child is comfortable holding a stylus
👉 Every child develops at their own pace: age is only an indicator.
⏱️ How long can my child use Kaligo each day?
For effective learning, we recommend:
- Short sessions rather than long ones
- Around 10 to 20 minutes per session
- 1 to 3 sessions per day maximum, depending on the child’s age and attention span
💡 Regular and motivating use is more effective than long, tiring sessions.
🧠 Why limit screen time?
Kaligo is designed to:
- Practice handwriting movements
- Develop precision and coordination
Beyond a certain duration:
- Concentration decreases
- Gesture quality declines
- The child may become tired
👉 Regular breaks help maintain high-quality learning.
👨👩👧 The role of the parent
Even though Kaligo can be used independently, the parent’s role remains important:
- Encourage the child
- Celebrate progress
- Avoid pressure or comparisons
There is no need to correct every mistake: Kaligo automatically adapts to the child’s level.
📵 Kaligo and overall screen time
Kaligo is not intended to replace:
- Writing on paper
- School
- Or other child activities
We recommend integrating it into a balanced routine, alongside:
- Homework
- Hands-on activities
- Free play
🎯 Best practices for a successful session
For optimal learning conditions:
- Set the child up in a calm environment
- Use a suitable stylus
- Ensure a comfortable posture
- Choose a moment when the child is rested and available
