Who and how Kaligo can help
At Kaligo, we are committed to providing an accessible app. Therefore, we have included adjustable settings to accommodate as many students as possible to achieve this.
Here are the settings you can adjust with Kaligo...
Colours

For students with dyslexia, we recommend using a dark coloured ink on a light (not white) background. Avoid green and red/pink, as these are difficult for those with colour blindness. White can appear too dazzling.
Writing Area

These settings can adjust the writing area, thickness, line spacing and line colour.
Coloured box borders will make the writing box clearer to your students.
Line thickness can also be adjusted to aid visually impaired students.
We recommend enlarging and decreasing the spacing between lines to allow younger users to develop precise fine motor skills.
Coloured lines help to give precise instructions for ascending and descending letters. This will work well with any rhymes you currently use.
These settings can be adjusted throughout to increase the challenge as writing skills progress.
Dynamic Model

The dynamic model is the student's video demonstrating how the letter is formed.
You may adjust the dynamic model speed to adapt to the learner's preference. The user can always replay the model at any time.
The Focus mode disables writing until the dynamic model finishes playing. This is great for introducing new skills.
Settings by Attainment
The Feedback settings allow you to adjust the difficulty level making it easier for children to receive greens and stars. This can be adapted to make sure all students are making progress.

Recommendations...
Pre-Keystage
Set difficulty setting as Working Towards and adjust Kaligo settings to support users to improve their skills. Set bespoke lessons to target areas of weakness to close any learning gaps.
Working Towards
Set difficulty setting as Working Towards and create Kaligo lessons to secure learning and understanding. The personalised learning pathways and AI engine will adapt to support learners needs.
Expected
Set difficulty setting as Working at Expected. Support children to secure new and existing skills. Opportunities for a challenge will allow learners to develop a deeper understanding.
Greater Depth
Set difficulty setting as Working at Greater Depth. Challenge learners with bespoke settings and create custom word lists to help expand vocabulary.
Supporting Special Educational Needs
Scaffolding learning with customisable settings makes lessons more accessible and inclusive, allowing children to remain in the classroom. The difficulty level will be dependent on each child.
