No space left on device
I see an error message saying that there is not enough space left on my tablet. As a result, I can't log in, or I manage to log in but some lessons are missing.
Some Kaligo lessons, especially those from the Kaligo Library, can take up a lot of space because they contain many images, sounds, and sometimes even videos. This error message may appear after scanning a QR code, as Kaligo downloads the sessions assigned to that student.
This is even more likely if multiple students use the same tablet, as each student’s lesson are downloaded onto the same device.
Checking available storage on the tablet
The first thing to check when encountering this message is the remaining storage space on your device.
The steps to find this information depend on your device. Here are two tutorials explaining how to check:
If you have little space left, delete unnecessary apps or large files to free up storage. Then, try scanning the QR code again to download the sessions. 😊
I have a lot of free space (several gigabytes) on my tablet.
Some tablets (especially iPads) manage storage in a particular way: even though the tablet shows a lot of available space, this space is actually divided into many small fragmented sections. However, downloading large files requires contiguous free space, not just a sum of small spaces.
To fix this, try one of the following solutions:
- Restart the tablet: Sometimes, a simple restart allows the tablet to reorganise its storage and resolve the issue automatically.
- Uninstall and reinstall Kaligo: This will remove previously downloaded lessons, freeing up space for new ones.
